WELCOME TO THE “BIGGEST LOSER” SCHUYLER COMPETITION
The Odessa Fire Department in celebration of their 100th Anniversary has teamed up with numerous community organizations to bring you the “Biggest Loser” Schuyler competition. It is the goal of this program to make our community/county a healthier one through physical activity and weight loss. Prizes for the program will be announced at the first weigh-in.
CONTEST RULES
1. Any person living or working in Schuyler County may sign up
2. They will participate in a 6 ½ month weight reduction contest, beginning March 2nd and ending September 14th
3. Weigh-ins will be one evening a month at the Odessa Fire Department (first Tuesday 6-8 p.m.)
4. Weigh-ins will be anonymous and conducted by a member of the Odessa Rescue Squad
5. Contest results are based on a percentage lost from your starting weight. That way people who may not have as much weight to lose as others are on an equal playing field.
6. During each weight-in there will be a (must attend) seminar for all participants. Participants must attend two thirds (4) of the seminars to be eligible for the grand prize.
7. There will be two age groups.
a. 12-21 years of age. We do not encourage this group to do strictly a weight loss program—the goal here is to teach healthy living through exercise and good eating habits.
b. 22 and over.
8. It is encouraged that all participants have a check-up or physical with their doctor before beginning this program.
9. We are encouraging all participants to learn about a healthy lifestyle through exercise and nutrition. (Seminars)
10. Registration forms may be picked up at Odessa Village Clerk’s office, Town of Catharine Clerk’s Office and on www.townofcatharine.com , Montour Falls Village Clerk’s Office, Odessa Montour Central School Offices, Watkins Glen Central School Offices.
11. First Weigh-in will be March 2, 2010 from 6-8 p.m.
